Courier Rural Charge Increase Effective 28th September 2015
We have been enjoying incredibly low rural courier charges for several years, but sadly that is about to change.
All courier companies use a rural delivery agent to deliver parcels to rural customers and it is their charge that has prompted this increase. Previously our courier company (Post Haste Couriers) has subsidised the rural charge for us however it is no longer economically viable for them to continue to do so.
Currently, the rural delivery charge is $3.50 inc. GST per package up to 25kg. From 28th September the rural delivery charge will increase to $5.50 inc. GST per 15kg (or 0.075m3). The increase doesn't have too much impact for the smaller packages, however the rural charge for a package ranging in weight from 16-25kg will increase from $3.50 to $11.00.
At this stage there is no rural delivery charge for anything sent in a plastic satchel (this includes a number of our products available in 4kg bags such as the Coleby Lick, Ground Salt and Kelp Meal).
We will work hard with our rural customers to work out the most cost effective option for sending product. There is always the option of collecting product from the nearest township and for those larger loads we can send product via truck at very cost effective rates using PBT Transport.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding this rural courier rate increase.
