Dried seaweed powders are produced from the seaplant "Sargassum polycystum". Sargassum is a brown seaweed and the tropical equivalent of the more common cold water brown seaweed "Ascophyllum nodosum". The raw seaweed is hand harvested in a sustainable fashion, graded, dried, and visually graded and milled to the customers' requirements.

SSE - AT is a processed powder that is designed as a "liquid seaweed in a carton". It will enhance your animals health and well being, enhance feed utilisation and assist in lowering somatic cell counts. It is Bio Gro certified (no. 4685).

For use as a feed supplement it can be used all year round to improve animal health. It can be used at times of animal stress, low quality pasture feed or poor animal health.

Overview

• Used as a drench or daily tonic through the farm water system.
• A nutritional supplement to maintain general health and as a nutritional boost during periods of stress.
• Assist in lowering somatic cell counts and can be a preventative for mastitis. In New Zealand we have field trial research which shows that we can have a positive effect on lowering somatic cell counts and thus reducing the likelihood of mastitis. An improvement in animal health is also noted.
• According to an experiment realised in Germany, there is a significant relationship between the level of urea in the blood and bacterial colonisation in the udder. In another experiment, the addition of urea to rations increased susceptibility to infection and increased the number of infections by more than 16%.
• Seaweed is one of the rare plants whose effect against mastitis has been proven scientifically. Its effect is preventive, however, rather than curative. In a seven-year experiment with twin cows, where one was given seaweed in its ration and the other not, the incidence of mastitis was greatly reduced in the cows receiving seaweed.
• Seaweed has an effect on different types of bacteria, not to mention the numerous minerals it contains. SSE contains a complex of eighteen amino acids. Amino acids are building blocks for proteins and enzymes.
• SSE is also a natural source of iodine, which acts as an antibiotic to kill germs, increasing growth rate and feed efficiency.

SSE - AT can easily be added directly into your farm water supply via dispenser or dosatron or added directly into farm water troughs. It is compatible with other products but we do recommend a jar test for all products that you do not have experience with.
